peacecheck 0 Posted May 23, 2008 I enjoy the illusion of what appears to me is that the larger tree branches are waving to the smaller tree. As if it's trying to get it's attention. Fantastic colors and tones. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment

bosshogg 4 Posted May 25, 2008 What a surreal and seemingly tortured landscape you have presented. Sort of post apocalyptic vision. Most impressive. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted May 25, 2008 It really has such an unreal feel to it, like a painting. Hauntingly beautiful, Jana. (Malacca has changed a lot after a recent face uplift. No longer a dirty city but one vibrant with life) Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted May 25, 2008 My association is the Outback in Australia. This has a prehistorical feel, those barren trees reaching out against the rounded rock. Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted May 26, 2008 Wow. Very ancient looking. I love how you have used the lighting. Great job! Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted May 26, 2008 The title is perfect, this is a place outside of time. This is a different and most effective approach to this rather classic African desert scene. Many of your other photos of these deserts with there odd trees are inviting and gentle. This one seems menacing and sinister. This image tells such a story. I cannot help anthropomorphizing those two trees. The smaller one cowering by the rock with the larger one rising up menacingly to threaten it. Namibia is on my ' must do ' life time list of places to visit and photograph. Your work always urges me on toward achieving that goal. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 26, 2008 Wonderful depth and beautiful abstract feel to this composition. I would hang it on my wall, too! Link to comment

BelaMolnar 2 Posted June 4, 2008 Yesss,!, . . . Jana! . . . The fourth dimension is TIME. . . . . Time, which WE hardly understand, because it is relative. . . . From that come the theoretical speculation, We or the UNIVERSE has more the four dimensions, as a lecturer was trying to speculate/ analyze / from the so many thousand of natural phenomena, we don't understand a fraction of it. And I still wandering, how was this image taken and where.? Or It is a double exposures in the camera, that why you saying, it was done in the camera...???? So unreal ! And as David said, "Apocalyptic." I my going to paint this image, if I get your permission, for an exchange for some of my images. Of-course, I would always would say, "After the photograph of owner; Jana Wanourkova."! OR!? Maybe not. Best regards; Bela Link to comment
jana 1 Posted June 5, 2008 Bela, the image is what I saw. there is no trick involved. Only I need to say, I was 3 days on this spot (2 nights camping) so I observed this place well in different light situations and made a lot of compositions. I deliberately eliminated the third dimension (depth) using the TELELENS (400 mm), so it is more surreal, graphic. This place is my secret place in South Africa, very hard to get to (there is 1 day off road drive with 4x4 car through mountain passes involved). thank You for Your interest. jana Link to comment
