gordonjb 10,860 Posted April 10, 2008 I like this version the best. This one is sharpest in terms of focus and freezing the action and as well the image is stronger with the man holding the painting being the only person in the frame. The other version is too busy. I also prefer the back of his head profile in this shot to the side profile in the attached version. As has already been mention, the vibrancy of the painting makes a great contrast to the flatly lit street scene. I might have cropped out that bit of doorway at the left edge of the frame or straightened it a bit. This is a small thing and of little consequence, but you know me by now :) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 10, 2008 Ton, I know, it made me smile and I wrote you a joke back...LOL Hans, Glad you liked it, and glad to see you. Kirk, yes it was a great trip, and I have met a past PN wonderful photographer, a friend that was with us for two days, a great added pleasure!( and his portrait will be uploaded later on. Jack,Love your interpretation, learned a lot from you! Joe, thanks for liking both. Anakin, thanks glad to see you. Jeff, you made me smile, his vibrant painting looks spring.... Alberta, yes the painting( looks tulips...) was very prominent on the "dead" gray surrounding.... Gord ,eagle eye I said? ;-))I think so, it is a small correction and done, I did not want to crop it as compositionwise it is like a " frame" with the R darker side.... Jef, thanks for your feedback. jim_hoffman 1 Posted April 11, 2008 Great streetpicture!Reminds me of myself walking on the street with my artwork in the past. Cheers,Jim Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 11, 2008 This one is far superior IMHO. The other one is too "busy" and the busyness seems more an annoyance than any real addition to the image. This one with its splash of color in an otherwise drab environment says a lot to me. It also seems to bring out the lonely journey all of us go through as artists. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 11, 2008 Pep, Iren, Jim and David, thanks for your point of view, I think as well that this version is the better one. So Jim, coming from the painting world, I'm also familiare with that situation.... David, this time I agree with you ...;-)) It is the lonely way, thinking, decision making we have to do while on our way creatinig. Good point ,thanks. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted April 11, 2008 I prefer the the loaded version because of its clean cut composition with no busy bg. The colourful art that he was carrying definitely liven up moment. Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted April 11, 2008 Real nice street grab. Nice contrast between the vivid painting and more drab scene colours. I too prefer this one because it's less cluttered and also because the motion blur didn't work for me in the other one. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted April 11, 2008 Pnina, I prefer this image. The other one is in concert with caption.Art -city ,no doubt. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Pnina, I prefer this simpler version, and also the fact that we don't see his face. Also very good is the contrast between the painting and the colorless background. Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I also prefer this version. I like how the painting explodes in the middle of this monotone world. Well seen. Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted April 12, 2008 This shot is wonderful, and the better shot for its simple focus on simple elements, not so cluttered. The splash of color anchors a very solid composition and makes this an exceptional photo. Congratulations! Link to comment

ronald_capasso 0 Posted April 27, 2008 I like this version better of the two. This image says a lot to me... the stone wall with its solid vertical lines appears to be mans attempt at something permanent and perfect in an imperfect and ever changing world. The painting of flowers reminds me of the difference between what we create and what nature creates. Flowers trees and grass bend in the slightest breeze, the angle of the painting helps me, the viewer, see that more clearly. Beautiful capture, and very provoking. Regards, Ron Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 28, 2008 Nice feedback. Robin, welcome to PN. Ronald, thanks for your visit and evaluation, I appreciate it! I too think that this is the better one.... Link to comment
syalphotography 0 Posted May 5, 2008 Great capture and presentation, Pnina! A selective color would be more appealing in my opinion. Warm regards, Rakesh. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 6, 2008 Rakesh, thanks for your visit and comment., the painting is a "sellective" color in the composition... imo ;-)) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 10, 2008 I LOVE this, Pnina. The color in the painting seems to be the only color in the entire image. Gorgeous! Great catch! Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted August 8, 2008 What a superb street capture Pnina....seems the guy is heading to is street office...the colors among the gray and walking attitude are what strikes me most together with the busy/urgent feel... Link to comment
