pnital 36 Posted April 9, 2008 Plaza Mayor is a micro cosmos of life passersby... I upload a second version, which one? Thanks Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted April 9, 2008 although the first image is sharper, i think i like the second because of the people passing each other without connecting with one another Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Both of them are captivating and provoke different feelings. This one is more individualistic and therefore feels more personal. This "artist" is carrying his work and equipment just like some of us carry our cameras and tripods. Whether he is starting the day with anticipation or finishing it with relief, this is a capture that I can relate to. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I prefer the one presented here for it's simplicity and contrasting colors from the painting to the greys of the background. A very nice composition! Regards, Dick Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted April 9, 2008 The vivid painting of life force against the muted colors--street and drab clothes--works well, focusing all the attention in the act of bringing in life and art, and his materials on the creative process. The tone is infections. His turned away face works well with this Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted April 9, 2008 You were just unlucky with both! Do admit that yourself and next sleep well next week..! :) Link to comment
portofolioanaluthi 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I prefer much better the first focused on the single subject and his colorful painting, precisely this sequence and loneliness among the micosmos strolling on the Plaza Mayor.. Regards, saludos. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted April 9, 2008 Pnina, I agree with Donna's comments, she really puts it well. This is wonderful, I love it. I prefer this one. All the best. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 9, 2008 Linda, Even I like the second one as well, because of the situation, but it is not sharp enough, and therefor is it second place.....Thanks for your evaluation. Adan, your evaluation made me smile, you are right about us, with the cameras, he is with his painting, each with his intention to create.... Richard, thanks for stopping by and commenting, I appreciate it. Donna, the difference of the colorful painting vs. the gray man and surrounding were what attracted my attention too. Olaf, I don't have to agree with you... but I respect your point of view. Ana, thanks for stopping by and writing your point of view, taking a glimps of your work, I liked what I saw ,I will visit and look closer, Thanks Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I prefer the first one as with less distraction.Pnina,I like the way you carefully focusing on the painting in the foreground as a means of isolating the subject and emphasizing its expression. Shalom Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted April 9, 2008 Slowly but surely you're coming my way. First you'll be sucked into the black zone and now street as well ;-) Love it, it's great. Don't change a thing. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 9, 2008 Spencer, thanks, it is my choice as well... Linda, thanks for coming again, Donna expressed very nicely why I was attracted to this scene, as well because I was painting for many years. Kostas, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Ton , my friend, thanks , but I think that you did not look well on my ( big I know...)folders, as I have a street folder with colored and B/W as well... http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=568956 and in other folders as well. So I give you an assignment, to look again ...LOL Thanks to all of you. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted April 9, 2008 I know, all too well in fact. I just couldn't resist. That was a joke. The second line was dead serious. Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted April 9, 2008 The bunch of spring colors in an almost duotoned image. Great work. Link to comment
kirk d 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I love the way you captured this man with his head turned. He may not be going where he is looking but is intent on going somewhere and without the face, I am allowed to explore the details of the image like his cargo and the stonework from the ground to the buildings. Excellent! Glad you had a good trip, it must have been a blast. Kirk Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 9, 2008 A wonderful picture, Pnina, the juxtaposition of art and reality, just a moment caught in passing. It's really striking. The world here almost seems blandly anonymous as does the artist while the painting dominate with its vibrant color and abstract design. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Excellent! I like them both. But they're not simple variants. They are quite different, really, and they provoke different responses. Warm regards... Link to comment
mareval 2 Posted April 10, 2008 I prefer without dudes this one you show us. Great capture with much more impact and interest, in my modest opinion. Best Wishes. Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted April 10, 2008 I love the contrast between the color of the only "non-real" element, and the very neutral tones of the real world. Also the funny detail is that in french "Filatelie" ( atually written Philatelie, but pronounced "filatelie" ) is the name for everything concerning stamps, and this is where the arrow is pointing, just like the man is holding a huge stamp. jeffl7 0 Posted April 10, 2008 A gem of a picture. It's important to pay attention when spring marches by... Link to comment
teresa.zafon 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Nice one Pnina and I like this better. I love the contrast of the colorful painting against the background.... I see you've been visiting Spain. Didn't you pass through Barcelona?. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted April 10, 2008 Every texture, every color shape and form in this beautiful photo is part of a wonderful symphony for the senses. (and I love the painting the artist carries as well ;) 7 / 7 anonymously. (I couldn't help myself and had to rate immediately!) Bravo! Link to comment
