My favourite tree, a gnarled old willow on the banks of the River

Stour near Dedham, Essex.

I've tried photographing this tree many times and this is my most

successful effort to date, taken about an hour after sunrise just as

the mist was starting to burn off.

Thanks for looking.

What a neat old tree! Beautiful shot with the mist and blue sky. Great composition....the clouds look like they posed for you! Love it!

Great subject. The tree is spectacular and deserving of being photographed. The mist lifting and the streaks of the sky work with the subject well. I don't know what lies in the immediate foreground, but I would have liked a little less sky and a little more foreground. The base of the tree touches the image border. I also think that the tree is such a strong subject that it could be cropped closer to include more of it. Then we could connect with it better, more able to see the textures of the exposed roots. Still quite nice!!

Tree and sky diagonals are nicely aligned. Low horizon is right, tree position perfect. Such places are great to know when a distinct cloudscape comes up. Why not a B&W ? In color, it looks too "normal", IMO

beautiful shot! I like the placement of the tree at the right of the frame and the skylines which are disappear behind the tree. great work!

Stunning, Benjamin! The fluidity of the gnarled trunk leading to the sweep of clouds...the colors are lovely and vivid without being overdone. I can see why you would be determined to capture this incredibly unique tree!

Not only you found a great tree, but you managed to get all the lines converging on it. Great composition.
