tonmestrom 4 Posted March 21, 2008 what I kike here is that feel of better times because it must have been grand at some time in the past. Now it looks quit run down from the outside with a long story behind it. That liquor sign you included enhances that very nicely. Sad maybe from a social point of view but I like the atmosphere they convey. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted March 21, 2008 Thanks, Ton. While this isn't a bad neighborhood, this building certainly has lost its former glory. Link to comment
chris_panagiotidis 0 Posted March 22, 2008 Wonderful rendering of an interesting architectural element, enhanced by the B&W medium used. The modern sign intensifies the difference of the activities in ground and first flours.Great tonality and framing.Compliments,Chris Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted March 23, 2008 I've always wanted to see the inside of one of these grand old anachronisms. This one really looks cool and Ton is right that the liquor sign adds to the overall picture. Nice Christmas lights in the window too. Link to comment

doug_gentry 0 Posted March 29, 2008 Doug, very cool! I like how the sign hangs in the lower corner compared to the wear and tear of the abuse of time and alcohol. Wonderfully symbolic. Nice work! Doug. Link to comment
