susan stone 0 Posted February 10, 2008 As I have a strong penchant for the color RED this one immediately caught my interest. All the barrels lined up in their varying hues of color and all that wonderful fluffy white stuff wafting about have combined to make a very pleasing image. And I really like how the little old barren bush adds a nice graphic interest to the foreground. Well seen and exposed Dick. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Thank you for your nice comment. The colors here in winter are generally boring, so when I saw this old building and these barrels the other day I got pretty excited about having something with a little more character to shoot. I've been back a couple of times. I'm interested to see what difference some sunlight will make. Best to you, Dick Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 10, 2008 Why is it that everything you post lately has snow in it? Just kidding. This is my kind of image. My name for the genre is post industrial mementoes. Peeling paint, production detritus, and existing or future devastation. To take the metaphor a bit further, the broken window may represent the system. Link to comment

rarmstrong 0 Posted February 10, 2008 I thought of you and Susan when I was taking this. Amazing how this site can creep into your creative thinking and what a nice thing it is to share thoughts with a group of creative people out there. Anyway, we have a lot of snow here and another blizzard today. So, finding interesting photo opportunities with some color is rare and exciting. I saw this old building on the way to the post office...so here are the images. It does harken back to the machine shop days and the smell of greasy rags and the "milk" lubricant we used on the milling machines. Thanks for your comments...I'm happy you're out there!
