alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted February 6, 2008 What a beautiful composition! And such fantastic colors. Good thing I'm not there. I'd buy them all and be very broke :) The larger version is, of course, stunning. But to my eye it shows the need for a little bit of sharpening. I know you're not a PhotoShop guy and the "need" isn't crucial. But if you can sharpen a photo, I would this one. Just a tiny bit. I would also not frame in black. The black frame negates all those wonderful bloom colors in the middle. I dragged the larger version to my desktop and erased all but a thin line of the black border. In my very humble opinion, this made a huge improvement. I've just finished reading "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" - a fictional account of life in seventeenth-century Holland. In it are many references to artists who anxiously awaited the arrival of the tulips from Persia (their real point of origin). Just thought I'd share that :) Have a great day! Link to comment
loic brohard 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Hi Alberta, many thanks for your valuable comments. I have uploaded a new version in my "Amsterdam In Winter" portfolio, by taking out the heavy black frame as advised, and by forcing the contrast a bit more. My PS skills are so poor I don't know how to use the 'Sharpen' function (... well I have not tried a lot I must admit). Cheers, Loic Link to comment
