Colour and the Coathanger

Just started - all critiques greatly appreciated!

(also if someone could answer me as to whether i am allowed to place

this photo in 'Travel' and i dont have to put it in 'Digital

Alterations' that would be great!)

Nice use of selective colour, and inclusion of the iconic harbour bridge.

Title should speak for itself. If it doesnt, i was just thinking, maybe if u alternated the colours of the 'hanging things on the wheel', making one b&w and the next colour and then b&w, it might have made the picture just a tad more cheerful in a rather monotonous place, which is depicted well by the greyscale. Otherwise, just one use of colour in the picture makes it look quite somber(which maybe what you wanted to achieve).

Ya, the software i used only allows one section of colour, havent tried photoshop as i dont have it. I do agree on your 'sombre mood' comment though...!

Interesting contrast between bridge and ferris wheel. As to your question, I think it would be fine to put this in "travel"....it's up to the photographer.Ii only put pictures in "digital alterations" if it has a lot more photoshop work than this shot. Sometimes I have a shot that doesn't seem to fit into ANY of the categories!!!
