frolov 0 Posted September 28, 2007 Pretty but fake. At least the moon is pasted the right side up on this one... Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted September 28, 2007 Fake or not it's a nice image. But....! You have to be careful, with such a montage. The light cam from the right side, so the Sun is in the right side of the Earth, and the Moon is in the opposite side of the Earth. In this case the Moon suppose to be fully in the sun rays. Not a half of it, and even this part not facing the sun! Next time, or now, change the moon for a full moon! One more! The moon here is not round, it is oval. But steel a nice image. Best regards; Bela Link to comment
lester_laforce 0 Posted September 29, 2007 interesting....even though the light source direction of the does not add up Link to comment
waltshoe 1 Posted September 29, 2007 To me, the light appears to be coming from the right... we are seeing the shadow side of the trees with rim light coming from the right. That would mean we are looking south (probably southeast) at sunset (assuming we're in the northern hemisphere). Right at sunset: If the moon is due south, it has to be a half moon. If it is east of due south, it has to be a crescent. If it is west of due south, it has to be gibbous (as shown). If it is due west (rising), it has to be full. I think this would look most natural with a crescent (and that's usually when you see the dark side, too.) Nice image though... I like the icy feel. Sharp, crisp trees against the cool night sky...
