While in the library with my students, I noticed in this week's

"Newsweek" a picture of the press on the floor in front of Richard

Clark's hearing. Among all the telephotos was a 4x5 press camera.

Later looking through "Time" their lead picture is a large B&W photo

from the postion of the press camera. FWIW. Blue Skies, Doug

Thats not too hard to take. I have 2 of those old things.

Try using one at 3 g or zero g, upside down, in a pressure suit at about 50,000 ft taking pictures for release. Oh, and you have a 35mm camera with you to take color, so you have the 'best' of both worlds.

BTDT. That guy had it easy. He was probably enjoying himself.

Your blue skies comment reminded me of that day back in the '60s when I did it.

I saw in the same series of hearings somewhere a guy using a Xpan -- with perhaps its 45mm lens.

In my ignorance, it seems like a awful waste of time to have so many photographers going on nonstop for hours. Not exactly a very dynamic location for shooting portraits-- and how photos many could you get from a bunch of people sitting for a while and talking.

My guess is if they were asked to share the photos, there might be an eruption of Nikon vs Canon images, and that might be the actual reason to not share photos.
