color tones

Hi to All, following i attach two photos, mine is a simple test for

the skin tone in cloudy day and about 20 minutes before night; and

the other is from a book and don´t know how and when and wich film

used but guess is also cloudy day but earlier, am i right?

The question is mine have a blue skin tone and the prof one not.

How to achieve a better skin tone keeping the blue tone of the photo?

The scaner is bad, the book photo have a neutral skin tone(not red)

and mine have a blue dominant.

Also the sky wasn´t withe, it was more dark.

I think those are too much question and poor quality examples but

hope you can teach me as always.

How warm do you want it?

 

It looks from your shot like the ambient light was pretty bluish, evening light. If you want that to appear warm, you have to add some warmth to it, either with filters or with a different color temperature light.

 

You can do it in post-processing, too.<div></div>

It seems like you're scanning negs with a flatbed... not an easy thing to do. You might try shooting the "warm" Ektachrome-- used to be E100SW, is now E100GX. They're slower than the Portra 400 and much less tolerant of exposure errors, but I have gotten some beautiful pics under overcast skies. Transparencies are also easier to scan than negs.

I think you might want to read a book about photoshop and color correction. There is

so much you can do and so much to learn.

 

This negative is easily correctable though so you are in good shape.<div></div>
