sg_black
I am looking for a good camera shop in Dallas/Fort Worth. I have been unable to find any at all. There seems to be only one and the service there was not good at all. I find it hard to believe there is not a nice friendly camera shop in the area. This is one of the largest cities in the country and we don't have a good camera shop. On a side note the people I have talked to at Wolf Camera and the other retailers say that they will stop carrying film by the end of the year. No cameras or anything. I am startin to wonder if I should even bother with getting a film camera.

lemastre
I generally trade at Competitive Camera. It may not impress you as a "nice friendly" place, but it you know what you're looking for, they probably have it for an attractive price. I believe Warehouse Photographic is still active, too. Then, there is Cooter's Village Camera, in the center of Highland Park. They've never offered a discount price on anything, but they stand behind the stuff they sell, which is top of the line Leica, etc. If you're on safari in darkest Africa, and the Leica you just bought from them falls in the river, they'll probably express you another one. At least, the founders of the business would have. The kids are running the place now. They also have a very large selection of greeting cards. If I were starting out, I'd be buying digital gear first and film equipment second.
stephen hazelton
Which one did you find, by the way? The Wolf Camera on Harry Hines in Dallas has a lot more stuff than the normal Wolf Cameras do. Mesquite Camera is not real large, but is a pretty good store.
sg_black
Well I was going over to the Wolf Camera on Harry Hines but when I called them to talk, they said that all they really had were some point and shoots and they were going digital. Said they wouldn't even be carrying film by the end of the year. I really don't know what I am going to do, I guess I will have to just go digital like everyone else.
