dan_fromm1
I'm not sure, Marcio. The Paulistas I know all seem pretty sane. The New Yorkers I work with really are crazier. Cheers, Dan
johnw63
Checking at Photodo... Grade: 3.7 35mm/AF Nikkor AF 24/2,8 Grade: 3.2 35mm/AF Nikkor AF 28/2,8D From this, you can see that the "D" lens is actually rated less than the non-D in the 24mm version. Perhaps there is enough variance to make little difference. If some one loaned you a lens with tape over the lens info and you used it with great results, would you still refuse to use it, if you couldn't make sure it wasn't a "D" version ? Keep the lens. frank granovski
Isn't the 28mm F2 sharper than the 28mm F2.8 (D and non-D)? - http://www.naturfotograf.com When I got my 1st 50mm lens for my FM2T I was happy for several months. This happiness ended when one day I saw the "E" on the lens. Since then I haven't been happy nor have I been sleeping. Excuse me while I have my 10th cup of coffee, a Brazilian blend. :-))

The 50/1.8 Series-E issingle coated so its color and contrast wont be asgood if the sun caresses the font element as any of Nikon's other50/1.8(s). Its also in a cheaper mount that will only focusto 0.6m v. 0.45m.

BTW the back on your FM2/T is aluminum.

Life is hard then you die,

Dave Hartman. sergio_leal
Flᶩo, as a medical doctor I think this seems more like an obsessional/compulsive behavior than perfectionism. You should focus more on photography and consider visiting a shrink if these "little things" really keep bugging you. I have a friend that sold me a Nikkor 28mm/2.8 for almost nothing just because he could not live with the idea that it had an almost microspopical scratch on it.Good luck.
