harryo
Neither Kirk or Really Right Stuff make an L bracket for the 67 ( they do for the 67II ). How do you take verticals using a ballhead? My current setup is a Manfrotto 055 with a Kirk B-1 ballhead. I've used this tripod setup for 35mm photography using L brackets. I found it very awkward to put the camera onto it's side for verticals. With the 67 outfit being much larger, I would think it would be much more awkward. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. I am new to the 67 world so any help would be great. thanks harry
trooper
Point to keep in mind and perhaps doesn't even pertain to your situation but.... If you like using the wooden grip, many heads that seem plenty robust and large enough don't have enough clearance (and are best flopped to left for vertical by design) to allow leaving the grip on. One of my grips is missing the small internal spring which makes it more fiddly to remove and I found this irritating as an extra step. I keep a hotshoe to pc adapter on my grips so that I can quickly put a shoe flash on for fill flash and ultimately, it was just easier to get a head that allowed leaving the grip on the body. alan_roberts
I don't think you should need an L-bracket to shoot verticals.I use an Arca Swiss B1 & have no problem. The Kirk should work just as well.
ronald_payne1
Late last year RRS told me they were designing a generic L-bracket that would fit the P67. Give them a call; it might be ready. Regards Ron
psartman
If you use a Bogen/Manfrotto "3D" tripod head (#3025 or 3028) or the Linhof 3-Way Levelling tripod head #3663 (more heavy-duty), you can contort the head so that the camera and lens are centered over the tripod legs.
