s._c.
Has anyone accidentally pulled the dark slide after cranking the last exposure through?. I was wondering if I lost the last frame or last few frames. Thankfully it was some still life I can reshoot. I appreciate your responses.
ed_skibeki
Do you mean the insert? I've done that mid roll and, surprisingly, only lost the exposed section + about 1/2 inch on either side of the rollers. Everything else was fine.
s._c.
No, just the darkslide about 1/3 the way out after cranking the last frame through. I realized my bonehead mistake and quickly put it back in. The only other time I messed up was when I was rushing to reload a older 12 back on a model shoot outdoors near dusk. I only had two backs at the time. Some overlapping on that roll, but the other five were fine.
s._c.
I should clarify. I already pulled the back off the camera and just forgot to finish rolling it to the end. Reminds me of some article I think named "101 ways not to get a picture with a hasselblad." Lol.
b_christopher
Probably just the last one. Possibly none. I've made the exact same mistake with minimal loss.
Rob F.
You didn't see any emulsion under the dark slide? Or did you? If by "cranking it through" you mean winding the film on, after exposing the last frame, then hopefully (unless you saw some film in there) the last of the film was past the gate, even if the last of the paper wasn't fully wound off onto the takeup spool. If so, I think it is not too much to hope for that you didn't lose any pictures at all. Good luck with it!
tarashnat
S.C. I've done this myself, once. I had lost about 1/6 off the top of the last frame. Taras
s._c.
I lost only 2-3 mm off the end, so it is still okay. I thought I would have ruined more than that. Thanks for your help.
