catchlight
I'm thinking of getting the 6" x 8" size of the Intuos or Intous 2 graphics tablet for editing digital photos in Photoshop, and for doing some freehand drawing in Illustrator.
Could those of you using either tablet model please tell me what features the Intuos 2 offers over the earlier one?
I'd especially like to hear from people who have used both models.
Thanks in advance for any advice. steven_clark
Was Intuos USB or serial(RS-232/macserial). From what Iunderstand the newere USB tablets are alot more convenient since you can simply pulg and unplug, and it's alot harder to find drivers for the older ones. Reall'y it's ont my area of expertise i'm just parrotting what I heard on a different forum.
carl smith
I have an Intuos 6x8 USB (not Intuos 2). It's a great tablet and I've had it for I'd say about 4 years now. The level of control between it and the new ones hasn't really changed, resolution, tilt sensitivity and pressure sensitivity are all the same I believe. The only differences are cosmetic and that the mouse is included with the Intuos 2 as far as I can tell. I should probably check to see if the drivers and software have been updated, the software that I've got is somewhat clunky.
john tonai
The biggest difference between the Intuos and Intuos 2 is that there are a lot more levels of sensitivity in the I-2. This allows smoother brush transitions. John
carl smith
Looking at the specs, Pressure sensitivity is the same and the rest of the specs look like they match my Intuos as well. I'm not sure there's much difference between them.
