jim_stewart
I just finished processing four 11x14 prints in a Jobo CPA. The last print had a very cobalt blue area for the top 2-3 inches all the way across the print. This blends to white at the very top. The previous print was of the same negative had no problems. The image under the blue/white area has very much reduced density although all of the image is there. This was on the end of the processor next to the lift. The chemistry was freshly made up. I used 140ml of each chemical including a short stop. Do you have any ideas about what could have caused this? Thanks, Jim
jp_roesch
When I ran into this problem I found that it was fogging from a red digital enlarger timer. A flap of scrap paper taped over the time solved the issue. The base color of most paper is also blue but from what you are describing there is blue in the image area too. This might contradict the hypothesis that the paper isn't processing on one side. I have not used a roller base processor before though. Is the chemistry covering the whole image? Is the processor level? 140ml of chemistry doesn't sound like much chemistry on that large a surface.
rowland_mowrey
Jim; I do a lot of 11x14s in my Jobo. If there is not enough solution, the problem crops up on the edge away from the drain / gear end because the end at the drain / gear side can never be too high. It is always covered with solution. Souds like fog or something else. Your 140 ml should be enough. Hope by now you have solved it. I just finished 18 8x10s in a huge batch and usually do up to 24 / session when I print. I use the 2xxx series and 3xxx series drums for my processes. My biggest problem is that the Endura has come to me requiring 2 different color packs. This is bad. I'm spoiled after years of using the same pack for Supra III. Regards. Ron Mowrey
