jackey_tse
Hello everyone, I am wondering how the color slides process, since I don't know how to process slides, with different processing centre, is the result will become different? Like the color print, you get different result with different processing machine. Thank you very much
art_haykin
Virtually all labs process slide film (E-6) in one of two types of machines: dip and dunk or a roller processor. Both will produce excellent and consistent results IF the machines are properly maintained, the chemicals are properly replenished, and the times and tempatures are correctly held.Other quality considerations can be how carefully the film is handled and mounted. Printing is another matter, as judgment is involved in achieving the proper density and color corrections
jim_malone
Art's posting is right on. The only thing I can add is that I would shoot a MacBeth chart on the first exposure of each roll of slide film. That gives you a known reference and lets you evaluate the end result of the processing. It's useful when comparing different labs as well - or when doing your own processing. qing_sun
Jim, Do you do your own slide processing? Where do you buy the chemicals, equipments, etc?
