peter_chiappini
Hello, I'm posting this question in this forum, because this camera is a lot like the pentax spotmatic series. I was wondering what could cause a camera shutter to just stick at 1/8 sec. All of the other speeds (from 1/2 sec. to 1/700th sec.) work fine and seem within tolerance. The mirror sticks in the up position and the shutter stays open until you change the speed on the dial. Any help resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you- Peter
stemked
Not that this helps much, but my Spotmatic F used to do the exact same thing. It stuck only at certain shutter speeds and it would lock the mirror up.
chris_eve
The slow-speed escapement needs cleaning ... it's under the base-plate, as I remember ... as to whether the cost of a professional repair will outweigh the value of the camera, only you can decide. peter_chiappini
Thank you both for your responses. I'm going to try and fix it myself; I got it cheaply and buying another one would probably cost less than a repair. Thank you, I appreciate your help -Peter
