fid
How long should my negatives be hanging?. Sometimes, after 3 days, If I run my fingers through it, I still find wet spots, and sometimes, even though they look dry, I put them in the plastic sheet, and they stain the plastic and stick to it. Am I not washing them enough?, Are they not drying properly?. I use photo flo at the end of the development. Thanks.
peter_kim2
Whoa 3 days??? I usually just let mine hang overnight. I use photoflo to wash it off and then wet my fingers with it as I pour it out. Then I use my index and middle fingers and use them like a squegee (sp) to run off the excess. Some poeple are paranoid about scratches and use a real film squegee but Ive never had any problems. Once you do this the excess should be off and overnight should be plenty of time to air dry them. At least for me.
lex_jenkins
You must be in a humid area. Get some air circulating in the room where your negatives are hanging to dry.
jimvanson
I hang mine three feet up over a electric space heater (no fan) set on medium for 30 minutes. They're dry after that. Even with the heater off an hour and a half...max.
And you are correct NEVER put wet negs in sleeves as they will glue themselves to the sleeves forever! kymtman
I let mine hang in the shower for a couple of hours and then use a blow dryer at the lowest setting to pass warm air across them for a couple of minutes. you would think they would catch dust, not yet. sometimes i get impatient and want to scan sooner that I should. I should waite over night for them to dry. A neg will look dry and not be. 3 days!!!! a sponge soaking wet should dry by that time.
