shane_solow
I seem to be getting negatives that are slightly too dense when I develope my Ilford Hp5 in id11. I do not have this problem developing tri-x in id11 the same way. I did some tests of Ilford Hp5 developed in T-max developer and the results don't seem as bad. Still I would like to stick with id11 and I was wondering what might be going wrong here.
photojim
Slight overexposure or slight overdevelopment. How are you doing for shadow detail?
m0002a
If shadow detail is too dense, cut exposure. If highlight detail is too dense, cut the development time.
john_hicks___
Note that different developers give slightly different base density and fog with the same film. Shadow detail level indicates how much exposure you've given; for the same shadow detail density then highlight density indicates relative levels of development. lex_jenkins
John, could you include that excellent and succinct definition into your photo.net signature line? It'd save a lot of repetition for the rest of us. ;>
