canon_eos_rules
Well, my photography class just started, and I'll be shooting my first color slides in 2-3 weeks! WHOOPEE!!!! My photography teacher recommended Kodak ELITE Chrome film and said to "pick any version you want". However, being a first-time slide film shooter, I have a tough decision to make, but I DO want saturated color, lots of sharpness, and high contrast and I DON'T want graininess or crappy slides. So, what's your favorite ELITE Chrome film? Finally, don't suggest Fuji Sensia slide films as an alternative because I cant find them close to home and the teacher said NOT to use anything but ELITE Chrome. P.S.: We'll be doing the E-6 processing at school.

dan_sapper
Try the newest version of Elite Chrome 100 (EB), where the box is labeled finest grain of any 100 speed consumer film (the old box says something about good skin-tones). It is saturated, but not over saturated. It is extremely fine grain. It has higher contrast, more so than Sensia 100, but still reasonable without blowing highlights. Elite Chrome Extra Color (EBX) is more vivid in color saturation, and sharper, but does not have as fine grain as the regular Elite Chrome 100 (EB). r.t. dowling
Definitely EliteChrome 100 if you plan on taking pictures of humans. Otherwise, EliteChrome 100 Extra Color will do the trick.
gary_watson
Plain vanilla EliteChrome 100(EB)is actually hard to beat for consumer E6 material. The saturation/contrast have ramped up over the years but it's dependable, cheap and widely available. I'd avoid EliteChrome Extra(EBX)for shooting anything alive.Hideous stuff. canon_eos_rules
I chose the Elite Chrome 200. Is that a good choice?
daniel_fortier
with elite 200 for your goals it will be a .5 out of 4 score, just buy 2 rolls of films go outside shoot & process ;)
sknowles
I second Elite Chrome 100 or 200. It's often recommended for several reasons, mostly though because of it's good, neutral, color balance over the whole color range, and it's commonly available and affordable. It's an under-rated consumer film, even Photo Techniques rates it with the professional films. It's an excellent film for a lot of applications. You can always add other or color saturated films. Good luck.
ilkka_nissila
Elite chrome 100 (EB) is definitely the nicest stuff in this family. I can't understand why they make the others.
