hans_leenen
Is there a simple device available for the individual photo-hobbyist to retrieve the data on the magnetic strip of the APS-film and get it in a digital file that i can use along with the digital archiving of my APS-films? I already know about the existance of a FUJI APS film player, but i am only interested in retrieving the data. With all the technology at hand, one would expect some device like that to be there. Thanks for your help, Hans Leenen
chris_eve
The Olympus ES-10 scanner could read (and edit) the magnetic data on an APS film ... maybe you can find one cheap ... they're fairly old technology now, but you'll need the APS adaptor as well, it's a separate item. Whether or not you can save this information directly ... I don't remember. It's a couple of years since I sold my ES-10 with all it's APS adaptor and all documentation, and I never tried to do this.
