peter_svensson
Anybody know what's new with "New" Sistan? I just saw it at Adorama. All I can I see is that it's twice the price for the same volume...
viktor s.
According to John Auer at Agfa, the "new" Sistan is 1/2 the strength of the original. That's really tricky, charging twice the money for one half the quantity. Way to go, Agfa.

PaulWhiting
Hi all! Very happy this thread got started. Will try and post more tomorrow, kinda late now, but want to keep the thread going. Perhaps it does cost more, but maybe it's worth it. There were some important issues raised with Sistan a while back. Many of us are happy with it but were waiting for some independent testing of the product, which Agfa was willing to subject themselves to. So, perhaps this new version is a result of some recent testing of theirs. Stay tuned! I'll see what I can find in my past archived messages on this subject and post more over the weekend. Cheers, Paul Whiting www.paulwhitingphotography.com
nicholas_t.
Theres a thread in the Usenet archives which goes into Sistan in a big way, Doug Nishimura is an expert and he is referenced in a big way. Google search the rec.photo.darkroom with his name and Sistan and something should come up if youre curious...
