george_stewart1
I have the a Gitzo G1570M head that I use primarily for my 8x10 field camera. Its forward/back tilt has always been overly stiff for my needs. I tried to take the head apart to loosen up the tilt, but could find no obvious way to do so (no bolts/nuts to loosen). I would rather not invest in a new head - looking at the Arca-Swiss B2 which is oh so fluid! Does anyone have a suggestion! Thanks. George
ellis_vener_photography
Another excellent alternative is the Sinar Pan-Tilt head or a Ries.
h._p.
I don't know the specific model you're talking about but if it's an older Gitzo you can try just unscrewing the camera platform from the base and if that works, go from there. My old Gitzo Reporter tripod is all double screws so that taking it apart is a case of turning things that look as if they can't be turned, if you see what I mean. paul_owen
George, the 1370M head that I have behaves exactly the same!
