Hello Mark, 

Thanks for your comments. To my eye, the dead flower to the right is not that significant as it is small and does not stand out like the other flowers against the green of the grasses and tree foliage. I'm okay with, and frequently do some "selective gardening", but to a point.

First, thanks for your comments on my photo in the critique forum. I didn’t see a notification for it so I only just saw it yesterday. 
 

I think the flowers are a bit monotonous, but the space the tree shows through in the upper left is interesting. I took a stab at cropping it in a way to emphasize the flowers framing of the tree.

Please notice that almost nothing is in focus, except one or two flowers. You needed to stop down further to get more flowers in focus. The best bet would have been to focus on one flower with the aperture wide open, then you could show lots of color and details, in focus. I'd bring the EV up just a touch also, along with Contrast.
