In another thread, it is suggested that the "extreme" in this forum includes GoPro, so I post this one.

 

It seems that Manta rays like plankton, and plankton like some kinds of light.

So they have tours where they go out with some lights, which attract plankton and rays.

And with a GoPro 2, which works plenty well enough, I got this shot. 

According to the JPG file, it is taken with a 2.5mm lens, or 16mm equivalent.

In any case, it is wide angle and the Manta ray is very close.
