The Pentacon 50/1.8 focuses to 0.33m, making it a versatile standard lens for close-ups.

Oddly enough, just yesterday afternoon I was using the Pentacon 50/1.8 (in it's original Meyer-Optik Görlitz Oreston guise), for some botanical work, and I'm looking at the results now. It really is a rather neglected lens, but I use it frequently as it has good resolving power and produces subdued (by today's standards) but very true colour. It can also create lovely OOF backgrounds, despite having only six aperture blades. Here's a sample, straight out of a full-frame Sony digital camera.

4 days after a full shoulder replacement on Tuesday and feeling better than I thought I would. Already playing around with the cameras. Self portrait with a tripod mounted Konica III using Foma 200 developed in W2D2+ pyro/metol.
