According to Pentax Forums, was a Pentax Kit Lens made by Cosina and is the same as the Cosina Cosinon-Z 35-70 3.5-4.5.

According to Camerquest.com your lens was made by Cosina in the 30th week of 1974 or 1984 or 1994.

Thank you, Tony and Dave, I never thought to check the CameraQuest site and I was expecting an "09" prefix for Cosina. I'll note it as a Cosina-made lens.

Oddly enough, just yesterday afternoon I was using the Pentacon 50/1.8 (in it's original Meyer-Optik Görlitz Oreston guise), for some botanical work, and I'm looking at the results now. It really is a rather neglected lens, but I use it frequently as it has good resolving power and produces subdued (by today's standards) but very true colour. It can also create lovely OOF backgrounds, despite having only six aperture blades. Here's a sample, straight out of a full-frame Sony digital camera.
