Film Camera Week for June 3

Recommended Posts

Hello

Here are some from a Pentax K1000 with XX in D76 1-1

I found these a bit contrasty, would lessening the agitation reduce that?

Nothing spectacular just another test roll to see if I will keep the camera

Thanks

Don

D76 is tricky because it will produce blocked highlights if the development time is too long. I would suggest reducing the development time. If my memory is correct I used to agitate the first 30 seconds then 5 seconds every 30 seconds.

Someone else just recently posted some shots using Rollei Retro 80s. I just purchased one roll to test along with my last processing chem purchase as I have been impressed with the tones of that film.

Thanks, mjferron. I've only used this film one other time: back in 2010. At that time I was still scanning prints of my negatives since I did not have a way to scan negatives. Use the same developing time as I did back then: 5' at 68F using Kodak HC110 dilution B. While not inexpensive, 80S is still less expensive that some other films. Also, it is available in 100' bulk rolls. I think for now I will just be satisfied with shooting an occasional roll of it. I like the clear base and it lies flat in the scanner. And the extended red sensitivity is good. When I start the new weekly thread tomorrow I will have some more shots from that roll, including some with filters.

I like how these images look just fine. Reminds me of the classic Black & White look with nice classic Zeiss or Leitz glass. Your photos are superb. Keep them coming.
