andrew_rothman
Hi all -- I'm wondering whether anyone out there has suggestions for a good U.S.-based repair person to work on my two RE Super cameras. One just needs a CLA. the other needs a CLA plus a repair to the mirror box. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
m42dave
This thread below is old, but might have some useful information: https://www.photo.net/discuss/threads/topcon-camera-repairs.453063/ The Learn Camera Repair site also has a factory repair guide (PDF download) for the Super D. https://learncamerarepair.com/product.php?product=
JDMvW
It's getting very difficult to get film marques like Nikon, Canon, and Leica repaired. There might be an old Navy technician for Topcon still alive somewhere out there, but they are few. For the one that just needs a CA ("Lube" has been the death of many an old camera), you can probably get inside and DIY with care. There may be some more ancient web sites on the subject like m42daves. As for more serious repairs, hunt down the camera and replace it, I think. m42dave
Come to think of it, I believe Gus Lazzari (a camera technician who used to contribute to this site) may work on these. He has posted on the subject before. I don't know if he is currently taking on work or how long it takes if he does, but you might check online.
