No worries.

 

My mention of reality is because that's what I was responding to in the thread. Normally, I don't talk much about reality, especially when it comes to labeling photos real or not real. Anyway, my own approach to photos covers a lot of territory. Photos are many things. I document some situations. I come across and explore other situations for their photographic potential. And I set up other situations. In documenting, I recognize that I'm conveying, within the limits of photography, something of significance in the world. In other types of photos, I'm using what's before the camera to express something or to show something in a particular light. Photos can transform as much as they represent. When not documenting, I like playing with the artifice that is a photo. In those more creative situations, I'm not concerned with reality or accuracy as much as with theatricality and visualization.
