mikemorrell
Hi @c_watson|1, many thanks for this link! Though I'm a British ex-pat, I'd never heard of or read about Shirley Baker before. It was kind of strange learning about her existence via The New Yorker! But full credit to them for highlighting this her work. I like the article and the selected photos and I intend to discover much more of her work. I was born in 1955 so some of her 1960's - 1970's photos in the UK have an immediate emotional appeal to me. In terms of Manchester/Salford/London street scenes, clothing, hairstyles, etc. It's how I remember life back then. I'm glad that Shirley Baker documented the ordinary 'street life' of the periode.
