Drip spots

Hello; just started processing my own film. On my second attempt I discovered these types of drip spots on a few frames. The only guess I have is I may have screwed up the wetting agent to water ratio? I'd appreciate any other theories, thanks!

For Photoflo and similar products it's a 1:200 ratio. I usually make up a solution of 5 ml Photoflo to 1000 ml water. I use tap water but if mineral content is high you might try distilled water instead.

That was my first thought - you might try distilled.

Actually, you can get deionized water somewhat cheaper, which is chemically close enough.

Some people will cringe at this, but after hanging the film I used to wipe it down with damp photo sponges. That was a long time ago so I cannot remember if I rinsed the sponges in a water/fotoflo solution first, but I'd guess that I did. I first did a final rinse in water/fotoflo.

I use distilled water with no photo flo. Film dries clear of spots.

My "technique": 0.25 ml ( one quarter) photo-flo in my 450ml Nikor tank.3-5 min's ez agitation. Hang in shower. Mist each side top to bottom with DI. Close shower. Open frig & have a cold one. Bill

Yeah, i have given up on Foto-Flo.

I do a final in Distilled, hang it up, and wipe dry the shiny side of the film.

I "never" see anything......... :)

Either a cotton rag or a micro-fiber from The Dollar Store.
