michaellinder
Ziggy, I"m curious about your thinking regarding the second image you posted. What about a photo showing a bee taking honey from a flower do you consider abstract?

Glenn McCreery
Just in case you are scratching your head over what the subject was in my photo, I will explain (or, does an explanation detract from an intentionally abstract image? Like explaining why a joke is funny? ). I was hiking on top of a sand dune and looking down the slope. Someone had walked across the face, which was at it's angle of repose, so every footstep caused the sand to slide below the footprint. Someone had walked across the face, which was at it's angle of repose, so every footstep caused the sand to slide below the footprint. For some people, an explanation might detract. Not for me. As a fellow photographer I find what and how other photographers see and make decisions both interesting and helpful. I can set aside info I don’t find helpful but only if I allow myself exposure to info in the first place. Some people do seem to think that accompanying info is either superfluous, ego driven, or only meant for lesser photos which need a verbal assist. I’m happy not to be among those people. Thanks for sharing. And a very good abstract photo, too. 1 There’s always something new under the sun.
