James, your pictures with the A99 always make me want one until I remember that the photographer creates the picture. Like those colors! Howard, the Shhhh sign is interesting, The round tube in the middle looks like a ships ventilation funnel. Patrick, the F4 had a ground avoidance radar that let the pilot fly hands off at a very low altitude. I would not want to be in the plane when this was being done. Nice snappy pictures. Louis, the full frame lets the 50mm have some OOF at 1.8 for smooth bokeh. I have been trying to get a red winged blackbird image for Paul deLay walking around their local habitats (pretty much every where around here) having the beercan loaded but no good results. We were in the middle of the Saint Louis Zoo and one landed four feet away on the back of a chair and before I could get my camera out it (naturally) took off never to be seen again. Paul, I will keep trying.

Randy, when I do my street photography I always tend to saturate the colours, it reminds me of books from the 60's, 70's and 80's that had saturated photo's of people and places.
Thus when you see many of my photo's they are rich in colour. I tend to desaturate portraits of people though.
FYI, the Camera and lens went on my credit card, and that is still being paid off, lol. (I have no regrets.)

Randy the blackbirds down here are loud and cocky but they never allow me to walk/sneak up to them on foot. So the trick I resort to is "drive-by shooting" from the car window instead. Actually it's more like inching very closely and then shutting off the engine while pretending not to look at the excitable model.

And even then, at 6 yards+ distance a beercan will give you a very small bird against a big cattail panorama, so you'd want at least 300mm. Personally I feel that it's high time for your wife to surprise you with a Sony 55-300 or a Tamron 70-300 USD! Make sure she realizes how useful that will be for shooting baseball action :)

My invertebrate zoology class is winding down so this week I took the Sigma 70 2.8 macro to work for some through-the-aquarium-glass shooting of the remaining live specimens. Look, but don't say sushi!
