randy_cooprider1 Posted March 16, 2013 Share Posted March 16, 2013 Another week has flown by and it seemed to go faster as we are on vacation. I have shot the beercan a few times but when I am just strolling around, the kit lens is easier to handle. Got some shots to share? Post up to three with the long side no more than 300 pixels. david_smith110 Posted March 16, 2013 Share Posted March 16, 2013
Nice play of light in that first one Randy.

I have recently picked up a Yashica ML 50/1.4 in preparation of getting a Metabones Speedbooster for my NEX in C/Y mount. Actually I am preparing to get a Zeiss Planar 50/1.7 but the ML came up locally very cheap. Been shooting with it quite a bit. it is really reminding me why I feel in love with Tomioka glass.

NEX 7
Yashica ML 50/1.4 on tubes

and then she was gone (ladybug erupting into flight)

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

david_smith110 Posted March 16, 2013 Share Posted March 16, 2013
I also got to shoot some portraits for a local law firm to use on their website. I shot the entire gig on my NEX 7 with the MC Rokkor PF 55/1.7. Here is one of them. Another portrait I shot for them got Explored on Flickr and I will post it over in the Mirrorless Monday thread in Mirrorless cameras.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

howardstanbury Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013
Back to basics this week. I have been trying out my new (to me) Dynax 9 body with a Sigma 28-300 zoom. These pictures were taken on the last day of the Oxford Torpids rowing races a couple of weeks ago. All on 'Agfa' film (made in Japan, by Fuji?) from Poundland at £1 a roll. Scans made by the processor and adjusted a little by me.

<a title="Oxford Torpids 2013 by FlickrDelusions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8515/8560946730_d24431b0a1_c.jpg" alt="Oxford Torpids 2013" width="533" height="800" />
Hot air balloon over Oxford

<a title="Torpids / film /3 by FlickrDelusions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8514/8562224598_98ee97ac9e_c.jpg" alt="Torpids / film /3" width="800" height="536" />
University College Boathouse

<a title="Torpids / film /4 by FlickrDelusions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8244/8561119721_e7f2383289_c.jpg" alt="Torpids / film /4" width="800" height="533" />
Taking a boat out of the water

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
paul_de_ley Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013
Oy vey its true... Agfa film is made by Fuji these days. Thus passeth the glory of my native land's former photo empire :(
Howard what I'd like to know though is where they put the boat after they've taken it out of the water? On the back of a seven-seater tandem bike? :)

I spent most of the past week indoors thanks to viral visitors, here's a shot from last tuesday morning when I still felt free as a bird:

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
paul_de_ley Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013
The above was shot as usual with a500 and Minolta 600 f4.
A good while back my a450 started giving out (helped along by my overusing it a bit too enthusiastically) so for the past six months I've made do almost entirely with my a500 instead. But a450s seem to pop up quite frequently on UK's feebay lately and I do miss a decent sized OVF ... so eventually I gave in and got a replacement a450 for just over $300 incl kit lens & shipping. A few test shots with the new arrival and 30 f2.8 macro:

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A modern example is University College, the middle picture of my set. If you peer through the doors you can see all the boats neatly stored inside.

Univ is on the south bank of the Thames and so the front sits in the shade. Across the river there are lots of older boathouses, sun-drenched, and full of supporters. Here are Jesus and Balliol (I think)

<a title="Scan-130318-0001.jpg by FlickrDelusions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8383/8567347344_7e8a5b499f_c.jpg" alt="Scan-130318-0001.jpg" width="800" height="534" />
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
randy_cooprider1 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Share Posted March 18, 2013 David, I think the Vivitar series I 28-90 zoom I used for a long time was Tomioka made. Still have it. Gordon, single speed beach cruiser? Nifty handlebars. Howard, if the rowing team had seven members would a Dynax seven be appropriate? The nine still performs well. Paul, excellent hawk picture, BTW do hawk moths eat hawks? {:-) Patrick, my first post didn’t go because I didn’t caption it. Try again. Paul says there is a way to delete errant entries but I have not figured it out yet. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

paul_de_ley Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013
Actually I think we only get the 15 minute edit-after-posting window to make changes AFAIK, and that doesn't allow us to totally delete a post. What works instead is sending a message to our forum moderator Bob Atkins, asking him to cull the duplicates/failed uploads.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
