Greg M
Google is your friend. Took all of 45 seconds to find this site, complete with a scanned set of period instructions. Just scroll down the screen and you'll see.

http://evanlindquist.com/othermedia/leitzstereoly.html

50mm lenses only.
justin_ng1
Thanks, I was just too lazy..

Btw, is there another way to view the 3D images without using the Leitz VORTA stereo viewer? Since it's bloody expensive
Greg M
I've not delved too much into stereo photography beyond the brief ownership once of a Stereo Realist camera, but the various viewers should be inexpensive enough to try and see how well the effect is presented using slides produced with the Leitz attachment.

Is there a common/standard distance the slides are fitted and viewed between all devices? I just don't know enough to know.

It's interesting how the guy on that site wound up using the device on a digital camera to create digital stereo images.

glen_h
You could make two prints, mount them appropriately spaced for the usual stereoscope viewer.

I presume it makes two images on a 35mm full frame, so the size would be the same as half frame. Mount them in half frame slide mounts, and view them through two handheld slide viewers mounted together in some way.

-- glen
justin_ng1
Yea, or just use 3d glasses from cinemas? Haha

Anyways, what would the results look like?

Haha

You know that won't work: right?

The pic will look 3D when your eyes are aligned correctly with images, i.e there will be a superior perception of depth and of spatial relationships between objects. I am told it is a neat thing.
Robin Smith

Greg M
I just searched the Leica viewers on eBay...wow, yep, $450-750.

Just grab one of the Stereo Realist viewers of eBay for under $100..

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R5.TR12.TRC2.A0.H1.Xstereo+realist.TRS0&_nkw=stereo+realist+viewer&_sacat=0

justin_ng1
Hmm, do I just slide the whole roll in there and slide it to the next picture?
Greg M
You use 3D viewers, one image at a time. The pairs are processed and mounted together.
