<p>It's worse than that: I'm a <i>software</i> engineer, which means I'm unnecessarily pedantic about the maths without any consideration to real world practicalities. :-) What gave me away - the fact that I keep trying to redesign Nikon cameras without actually knowing anything about taking photos? (Computer imagery doesn't have LoCA...)<br />

RJ: Ah, experiment. Well if you insist on reality... I believe you. I'd actually thought Nikon might have expanded the acceptance range of their filters so they're a bit closer to CMY filters - Thom Hogan reported some colour shifts between the D800 and D810, and I'd wondered if they related to some sensitivity improvements. But I completely believe I was making it up!</p>
