Member69643 Posted October 20, 2016 Share Posted October 20, 2016
One of the things I enjoy most about film photography is getting back a box of slides in the mail. I don't shoot much slide film but it's always fun to receive that mysterious package, holding god-only-knows what gems or disappointing shots that might have been. Slide film is very unforgiving.

Here's a shot from last month. Bagheera, aged 10 weeks, posing for his portrait on my son's birthday (aged 10 years). I know a lot of people pooh-pooh date stamps, but I seem to adore them with slides, especially since it can take several days or even weeks to finish a roll.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hope our moderator will let me stretch the Thread rules by showing you the companion image to Fetch:

<a title="Fetch" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

I too have been impressed with the boundless joy expressed by the dogs that I routinely see riding in cars, on their way to the off-lease area of this same park. In fact, I'm thinking of doing a vanity book and calling it something like, "The Joy of Dogs". I'd have a series of shots of them hanging their heads out the car windows on their way to the park, lots of running in the park, in boats, in the water, chasing each other and play-fighting. I mentioned it to a friend last Saturday and then I saw this scene.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Member69643 Posted October 20, 2016 Share Posted October 20, 2016
@David Stephens great companion pic! Too funny, your mention of doing a book about joyful dogs. I had a similar idea a couple years ago but I was thinking solely about dogs in cars. I was going to call it "Out the Window" but like the Bandar-log I carried that stick all day, and then forgot what I was going to do with it. :)

You've got a great eye and a beautiful dog park to shoot at. I say go for it!
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
