Classic Manual Camera Weekend, May 6

Recommended Posts

Giving my virtual globe a spin I find it to already be Friday, May 6 in some parts of the world so let's begin. Three images, but there is "no fine for over the limit". Consider posting that "fourth" image in the 365 day thread. Week before last we hit 50 posts so let's break the record if we can. Looking forward to seeing everyone's images.

00dv2u-562803784.jpg.733a1193cfb3b0c588cad5f95741c550.jpg

Bill, the first racing-shot is excellent.

Mike, is your 50mm Macro the one with the wild bokeh at close range and stopped down a bit? I think I recall a discussion about this lens, but could err.

Some tourist-style snaps from a short walk today. Camera of choice was a Zeiss Ikon Nettar. My example is equipped with the premium-lens, a "Novar-Anastigmat 75/4.5". A slower lens was also available for this medium-class-folder.
After exposing the roll like ISO 100/21° I discovered that I had expired Ilford HP5plus in the camera. Developed it in Rodinal 1+25 with a shortened time. The negs came out surprisingly well, except for some mottling on the first frame (typical for well expired Ilford-120-films in my experience).

Many mistakes from my side today, but it was quite a bit of fun to use the old folder.

Great images already! I especially like Mike's distant boat, Bill's speeding Monterey racer, Michael's Yashica-Mat wonder (I also have this camera - so fun!), and Georg's cannons (the Nettar delivers great results).
Here are 3 from me:
1 - Curvilinear (Arista Edu 400 / Fujica ST705w / SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4)

Wow, so much so early in the weekend. Bill, I have a soft spot for those automotive shots ( you sent me the lotus a few months ago). Raj, I lived on the corner of 88th and West End for a year so that brings back memories.

These are from Zenit E. First with a Sigma 70-210mm and next two with Helios 44m which seems to be the workhorse. I have about 8 of those Helios lens. Seems to be quite a bit better than the Sigma.
Just purchased Silverfast and I think it might be an improvement over Vuescan but there is a learning curve so I have not used it yet. Wonder what others think.

00dv5N-562809684.jpg.7e58c5105477a0ded7d5d65a182c3c99.jpg
