<p>reading these always brings up questions.. like why the dual branding of honeywell-heiland pentax? I dont see asahi mentioned in the ad anywhere. Was this a marketing trick to get people to think the camera was german?</p>

<p>-And why was MP so evasive in their QA section.. they really did not answer half the questions.. </p>

<p>Honeywell and Heiland were the names of the importer. Rolleis were duel-branded Honeywell a while later and Canon's were duel-branded Bell & Howell.</p>

<p>As I recall, the dual branding was a way to distinguish legally imported goods from gray market at a time when some importers maintained strict ownership of trademarks entitled them to bar the importation of gray market goods unless the trademarks were obliterated. </p>
