nick_sandin
Hello All, Just wondering what everyone might be using as carrying bags for their RZ67 outfits. I just purchased a full compliment of RZ67 gear, and I'm not sure that the case logic backpack will work. I had a Domke F-2 bag which worked brilliantly with my 645 pro kit, so I'm curious if there is a bag that will fit the RZ like a glove in the same manner. Also, has anyone had any luck finding the grips for the RZ lately and if so where? I haven't had much luck finding them on eBay or something elsewhere. Thanks! iangillett
I think it depends what you mean by "a full compliment", we need a bit more information in order to advise you sensibly. I keep most of my RZ kit in a large LowePro Roller (RZ, 50mm, 65mm, 75mm shift, 90mm, 127mm, 140mm 150mm, 180mm and 210mm APO, with extension tubes and spare backs), this is easy to wheel along - but not lift! - and can be set at an angle when shooting so that the lenses are readily accessible. But I also have an RZ with 110mm, "Polaroid" back and AE prism in a LowePro shoulder back (Nova 5) for when I want to walk around with the RZ. Other lenses (37mm, 100-200mm, and 350mm APO) are kept in a Pelican case unless I am using them. Sad to say that in these days of digital (I use mostly Canon) the medium format is not being used as much as I would like, but the drop in price of RZ equipment has meant that I have been able to build up a very large collection for a lot less than I would have paid 'back in the day'.
c_watson1
If you liked the Domke F2, have a look at the F1X. It handles my RB67 Pro S and a couple of lenses+finder+hoods+backs. I you get one, be sure to add the USPS-style strap pad.
No clue on grips. Unlike the earlier models that fit the TLRs+RBs, there just aren't that many around for the RZ.
kyle_westwood
I tend to use my RZ with two lenses (65 L-A & 127 K/L or 210 APO) and only one back so I mange to get by with it in a lowepro toploader 75. I can wedge both hoods, gossen digipro F meter, cable releases and a stack of films. I can keep the second lens mounted using a pouch, but tend to just pocket it. Loosing the cable releases and one hood to my other pocket nets enough room for a second back.

My slingshot 300AW will happily fit the whole kit with tons of spare room for more, but it's too heavy to be practical, other than for transporting everything in the back of the car.
tony_clark
I carried mine in a Lightware Multi Case when I owned one but would opt for a large Tenba backpack now. My Tenba has wheels and a retractable handle which would work well with such a heavy kit.
jarrett_hunt
As for the grips they pop up on ebay every so often. It depends on how much you want to pay. I was suppose to have one delivered from England last week. However it seems that it got lost in the mail.
nick_sandin
Thanks for the ideas all! The LowePro 75 is a great idea for carrying it around without the whole kit. The Domke F1X also looks like a great option to haul around everything. To specify, my kit will be the RZ with waist level finder, 50mm, 110, 250, two 120 backs, a Polaroid back, compendium bellows, the grip, and a gossen luna pro SBC meter. By the way, I was finally able to find a grip. About 8 pages back in a Google search there was one for sale from a camera shop in Pittsburgh. david_thrower1
I use a Lowepro Transit Backpack 350 AW for my RB67 kit. It can handle the RB with 4 lenses (not sure my back could handle all 6!), 4 120 backs, L handle, Sekonic L-558, lens filters, 3 lens hoods, film etc. And I can hang my tripod on the side (it has a strap for it there).

Much much more comfortable than my side-carry bag I was using.
nick_sandin
Good to know! I forgot to mention I'd be carrying a medium sized manfrotto tripod & ball head as well.
