simon_gabriel
Hey, guys.
Currently in the market for a Contax G2 (hopefully with a 45mm Planar). But I'm at a loss with where to pick one up in the UK. Does anyone have any tips
john_shriver
Ffordes? But they only have G1's at the moment.
Of course there is eBay.
simon_gabriel
Yeah, Ffordes is always a good look, and I think I missed out on a good priced G2 by a few days.
Richard Williams
Ffordes do have a 28/45/90 + flash G2 'Millenium' kit for £1450.
simon_gabriel
Yeah, I saw that but it's not fully in my price range! It would be a great to have the full kit, though.
Richard Williams
I suspect if you wait a while a G2 body will turn up at Ffordes. Probably also worth keeping an eye on Cameraworld, Aperture and LCE, all of which have Contax G stuff (LCE currently has a 4 lens G2 kit, but I'm afraid that's £1500). York Cameras in London near the British Museum often used to have Contax G gear, but I haven't been in there for ages.
HarryBaker
York Cameras near the British Museum was empty when I passed it a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps it was being refitted.
Richard Williams
I'll have to check, it might well be gone for good. RG Lewis shut up shop last year, too.
Richard Williams
According to the google review page for York: 'On 3 Sept 2014 shop was empty and business seems closed. No signs to indicate relocation.' so it's definitely (long) gone.
