Still plenty of good weather for me to continue to refine my outdoor aerial photography skills. And getting a camera in the air means using short but intense bursts of energy - courtesy in most cases of specialized Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries. Those batteries are very energetic and yet fragile things, and need to be carefully maintained. Storage must be with the cells half-way charged, which means draining the batteries down when their full charges aren't used on an outing. Here, I'm putting a 35-watt load on battery used in my smaller quadcopter. That small quartz lamp uses about the same energy it takes to fly that camera in the air. It's in an upside down steel pot lid because that thing gets HOT!

Shot any obscure tools of the (or a) trade? Share!

User_6502147
That looks similar as band saw alignment mechanism, but it could be used to sharpened a running blade. Just guessing.

I've ran into this gismo on my recent trip in Asia....something I haven't seen in states for about 20-30yrs. My friend called it "love motel".

Les
