chuck
In the D810's shooting menu, HDR, multiple exposure and time laps photography menu items are grayed out and can't be selected. Is there some setting which needs to be enabled to make those menu options available?
NetR
These are not available in Live View. Otherwise check your manual for each item to see when it is grayed out.
chuck
No, it's not on live view. Haven't found anything in the menus about what is graying out multiple exposures and time lapse. Menu say HDR is not available using RAW, but setting the camera to record in JPEG didn't do the trick. Also, it is disappoint HDR can' be used with RAW. ShunCheung
For any serious HDR, I would use a computer anyway. The processing power on the on-camera CPU is very limited, memory is also limited, and the battery is small.
ellis_vener_photography
You may need to try switching from shooting NEFs to Jpegs or vice versa. But honestly I think the in camera produced tone mapped "HDR" images are awful at all settings.
5711
there is a lot of different possibilites to why interval shooting wont work.
most likley it is because your time settings in the camera are way off.
this happens if the internal memory gets f-ed up, no power for too long is a classic.
sometimes it then shows some weird date, like 2004, 2007, 2010, something.
in that case:

go to the wrench thingy
select time zone
set time and zone correctly

should work now.

if it doesnt, reset the camera shooting menu, reset time zone.
reconfigure time zone
reconfigure camera settings

should work now

if it doesn't, use it as a door nob :)
or maybe check the battery first, might be too low on power
if the error reoccurs in a short period of time, get a new battery for the internal memory.
with big cameras like the d3 or d4 this battery is located inside the battery slot.
should be similar with your model, i dont know for sure though.

hope this helped
Matthew Currie
I have read somewhere that the bracketing option also affects multiple exposure and HDR, and has to be reset to zero. Not my camera, so just rumor, but worth a look.
