Phase One P30 Tethered shooting without battery

Recommended Posts

Guys,
I have a Phase One P30 back, and I'd like to use that for shooting tethered. However, I would like to be able to do so without having to use the battery, and instead power the unit through the firewire cable. Phase One states that for iMacs, and Macbooks you can use the firewire to thunderbolt connection, but you need to switch the power supply to battery power to prevent connectivity issues.
Is it possible to use a powered firewire repeater/converter hub, like

The latter doesn't use an external power supply so may not provide sufficient power.
ANy suggestions that could help me out would be greatly appreciated!
