duy_nguyen6
Hello,
I recently got a Mamiya RZ67 from a friend. The camera won't fire. I tried setting it to emergency mode (orange dot on the shutter release button), releasing the lens shutter and cocking it back, setting R-M to M... The advance lever works normally and the mirror is set (I can see through the lens). Also, only the orange light is on when I try to press the shutter release button. Any suggestions?

duy_nguyen6
I did. With the dark slide in, the red light came up as expected. Every other procedures would only result in an orange light.

duy_nguyen6
I tried that, also in emergency mode, but it wouldn't fire... Maybe it really is a body or lens problem. Is there anyway I can check whether it's the body OR the lens? can I trigger the mirror without the lens attached?
lubos_soltes
just to be sure ... the orange light is for film transport issues:

1. cocking lever not fully advanced
2. film holder not advanced when loading film

so if it lights with back OFF the camera/M mode, then you did not wind the camera fully (in which case I'd expect you to be unable to remove the lens).

anyway you can dry fire the lens when off camera ... there should be plenty of instructions on the net ... if it fires, then it's a body problem.
