phiip_watson
Hi to everyone. I have been given an ettl flashgun for my Canon 50D DSLR and am wondering if I could use it off camera(in manual mode) to take portraits etc with my Hasselblad 500c/m? Also wondering how it would connect to the 80mm lens? Any advice appreciated...
Jochen_S
There used to be adapters PC plug to hotshoe, sold by small stuff wholesale companies like Hama maybebe Rowi. Their hotshoe piece got inserted into an elderly camera's cold shoe. I used mine with Pentax TTL flash on Mamiya C. For off camera use a PC extension cord comes to mind or any decent remote triggering system like either radio or optical slave. Many optical slave cells come with tripod thread on the bottom and hotshoe on top.
BrianS1664879711
Your lens has a PC fitting. If your flash has one also then you need a PC-PC cord to connect them. If your flash has a proprietary fitting then you need a cord that is PC-"whatever that proprietary fitting is". If your flash is hotshoe only, you can get a PC-hotshoe cord. I think you have more of a "I need the right cord" than a "can I do it" question.

Best place to get cords for these kinds of applications is to have one made.
http://www.paramountcords.com/
If you have a C-lens (will have X-M-V setting) make sure that it is set to X.
... Aoresteen
Also,

You will need a "grip" flash bracket. No easy way to put a decent size flas directly on a Hasselblad.

I use the old Vivitar grip with the 6x6 platform like this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vivitar-Pistol-Grip-Flash-Bracket-with-Cold-Shoe-/171546315561?pt=Camera_Flash_Accessories&hash=item27f0f50b29

Good luck!
