lahuasteca
I'm going to Pennsylvania next week and thinking of taking the FE2.While not specifically a photography trip there will be opportunities forFall colors, deep forest waterfalls, and some mountain vistas. Film will be Portra 160 and I can have it developed andscanned at Precision Photo in Austin, Texas. (I'm in hot steamy Brownsville way down south). The FE2 used to be my go to cameraback in the days and I have a sudden desire to returnto its simplicity. Will post the images when I return. colin carron
Ahh...the FE2...one of my all time favourites. Suggest just check your batteries before you go as the battery compartment in my FE2 often seemed to get a bit corroded. Have a good trip.
glen_h
Portra 160, the successor to my old favorite VPS. Most of our pictures of the kids growing up are on VPS. After I learned that it gave natural contrast and colors, instead of unnatural ones, it was always my favorite.
I always use the 3V lithium battery in my FM, same for the FE2?
-- glen
fred_haeseker
Should be OK. There's a thread on batteries for the FE2 here:
http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00beEn

dan_fromm2
Not to be a complete idiot, but have you checked that there will good color when you plan to be there? I ask because I'm at low elevation in southern New Jersey and nothing much has even started turning color here.

By all means take y'r FE2 and Portra and have a good time. But be prepared for a lot of green.

cbender
There's quite a bit of color in State College & the central PA area, but it's not total coverage yet. Probably a week or so and things will start to get really good.
lahuasteca
Hi Dan. I'll be in the Laurel Highlands, South-Central PA, elevation around 2,000 ft. I'm hoping some color will be emerging. What I'm really concerned about is that I know that have a warm dry fall - the water levels in the falls might be pretty low. Well, will give it a shot.
Andy Collins
I bet you do get some good color. We've already got quite a bit here in central Indiana, so I'm planning to take my F3HP out this weekend to shoot. Looking forward to your posts!
