JDMvW
<p>Not that it is really much more information than is on the lens, it is a Ricoh lens, catalogued by Kadlubeks Objektiv-Katalog (2. Ausgabe) as<br> RIC0009 7/7 52mm filter made later as a K-mount bayonet.<br> The K-mount version is listed by Kadlubeks as being worth about €90 in 2009, but their prices are virtually useless these days, and yours isn't exactly in 'like-new' condition. They don't show an M42 version, but that is not proof of rarity, just of the incomplete nature of the catalog.</p> <p>It might even be rare in M42 mount, but for a rare item to be valuable, there must be somebody wanting to BUY it. I own many rare, even unique, camera items, but none of them are worth anything.</p> <p>M42 lenses of any kind have the virtue of being easily adapted to many newer digital cameras, and if those have a "lens factor" (are cropped from the full 35mm size), then the wider lenses like yours come a little closer to being wide angle.</p>
rick_drawbridge
<p>The excellent "Unofficial Guide to Ricoh Cameras and Rikenon Lenses" (http://www.drricoh.de/Rikenon/index.html)<br> lists a Rikenon wide-angle lens in M42 mount with the following specifications:<br /> <br> Mount: M42<br /> Apertures : f/2.8-f/22<br /> Construction: 10 elements, 8 groups<br /> Minimum focusing distance : 20 cm.<br /> Filter diameter : 62mm<br /> Weight : 255 gr.</p> <p>Might this be the one?</p> <table border="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
tony_lockerbie
<p>Should be good, interesting to know if it was actually built by Ricoh.</p>

john_robison3
<p>The reason to buy a lens like this is because you already have an M42 mount body and need a wide angle lens for it. If you have a suitable body then try it out. At least that is what I would do with it.</p>
